Well here we are at week 2 of the gigs at the Worlds End Restaurant & Bar, and I have to tell you, tonight was a step above last week! I came away pumped and after watching a 5-song set from Ethan, I saw a new kid on the block, lol. This slightly reserved but confident kid of one week ago, tonight had the crowd eating out of his hand, and the band….. well let’s just say “The Jam Night” became “Ethan’s Jam Night”

He sat in the stool, guitar in lap and welcomed the crowd, as confident as ever, but with a little of the nerves coming through, and to a massive applause he started the night with a cover by Oasis, “Wonderwall” – At the same time, I was at the bar ordering a water and OJ, and even the barmaid was singing along with the song. The crowd was silent, and everyone was attuned to the stage, it was awesome! Then after another cover by Oasis, he sang “Free Fallen” by Tom Petty when the crowd would come in on each chorus and sing along with Ethan. This feeling was so cool, as it is always a true testament to the crowds enjoyment.

Breaking into an Ethan original, he played a request from the crowd, “I Understand”, and finished the set with his latest original “Just The Way It Seems”

The amazing thing for me is the difference just one week can make. Let me give you an idea of what I am talking about…. Tonight Ethan was all smiles! His voice was a lot more confident than last week, and every now and then he would turn to us, with a little (proud) grin! He was smiling and laughing with the band members as they backed him up on the last 3 songs, especially when they were having trouble keeping up with him, lol. His guitar playing was spot on, and he was mingling with the crowd afterwards. All in all, he was a true performer, enjoying the music of others, and taking great (quiet) pride in his own  contribution to an incredibly great night.

Dad was proud, I was proud, and I know Ethan had a great time! I can’t wait until next week.
